Job Description:
A prestigious luxury waterfront hotel in downtown Vancouver is hiring a skilled Executive Sous Chef to join its elite culinary brigade. This is a senior-level kitchen position requiring leadership, creativity, and a passion for premium guest experiences. You’ll support the Executive Chef in all aspects of daily kitchen operations, lead a diverse team, and maintain the hotel’s high standards of food quality, hygiene, and efficiency. The property caters to luxury à la carte dining, banquets, weddings, and corporate events.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day kitchen operations across multiple outlets (banquets, restaurants, in-room dining).
- Lead and train a team of 20–30+ kitchen staff, including Chef de Parties, Commis Chefs, and apprentices.
- Ensure consistency and quality in all dishes prepared and presented.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu creation, costing, and seasonal updates.
- Supervise all aspects of banquet service including weddings, corporate events, and VIP functions.
- Ensure strict compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations (HACCP/WHMIS).
- Manage kitchen scheduling, inventory control, and vendor coordination.
- Monitor kitchen equipment, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and performance reviews of culinary staff.
- Work with the F&B team to deliver a seamless luxury dining experience for all guests.
Salary & Benefits:
- Base Salary: CAD 70,000 – 90,000/year (based on experience)

📘 Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Culinary Diploma or Degree (mandatory)
- Minimum 6–8 years of progressive experience in professional kitchens, including at least 2–3 years as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef
- Strong background in banquets, multi-outlet hotels, or high-end restaurants
- Familiar with Canadian food safety laws and HACCP standards
- Red Seal Certification preferred (not mandatory)
