A stylish boutique hotel in Adelaide is seeking an experienced and reliable Breakfast Chef to lead the morning kitchen operations. The hotel caters to a high-end clientele, offering a fresh, seasonal continental and modern Australian breakfast menu including à la carte dishes, healthy bowls, bakery items, and hot buffets.

🎯 Key Responsibilities
☀️ Breakfast & Brunch Service
- Prepare, cook, and serve all breakfast items including eggs, toast, sausages, pancakes, smoothie bowls, and pastries.
- Ensure timely service for all in-house guests between early morning and late breakfast hours.
- Maintain freshness and quality of dishes through proper storage and preparation techniques.
🧼 Hygiene & Kitchen Maintenance
- Ensure food hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times (HACCP standards).
- Monitor proper storage, labeling, and food temperature.
- Keep workstations clean before, during, and after service.
📋 Mise en Place & Inventory
- Complete mise en place daily and prepare for next-day service before finishing shifts.
- Track stock usage and report low inventory to Sous Chef or kitchen supervisor.
- Assist with ordering ingredients and keeping waste to a minimum.
🧠 Guest Satisfaction
- Customize breakfast orders for dietary restrictions or special guest preferences (gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
- Maintain a professional, guest-friendly attitude even during peak hours.
Job Requirements
Education
- Culinary Arts Diploma or Hotel Management Degree from a recognized Indian or international institute.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of kitchen experience with 1+ year in breakfast service (hotel, café, or brunch outlet).
- Experience in cooking and plating continental & Australian breakfast items.
- Familiarity with international breakfast trends is a bonus (e.g., shakshuka, eggs Benedict, smoothie bowls).
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent time management and punctuality (early shift begins around 5–6 AM).
- Good multitasking abilities and calmness under pressure.
- Strong knife skills and attention to detail in plating.
