Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join a bustling steakhouse in the heart of the Gold Coast. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in cooking a variety of meat cuts to exact doneness, maintaining flavor and presentation standards. This role demands consistency, speed, and a strong understanding of grill techniques and meat handling.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare and grill premium steaks, ribs, poultry, burgers, and seafood as per order specifications
Ensure correct doneness levels for meats as requested by guests (rare to well-done)
Monitor grill temperature, rest meats correctly, and plate with precision
Maintain proper storage and rotation of proteins in line with food safety standards
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the grill section and throughout the kitchen
Coordinate with service staff and kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
Assist with prep work, marinations, and portioning of grill items
Follow safety procedures and kitchen protocols strictly
Job Requirements
Proven experience working on grill stations in high-volume restaurant or steakhouse settings
Understanding of meat cuts, marination techniques, and cook timings
Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety regulations
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure during peak hours
Team player with good communication skills and attention to detail
Professional attitude and personal hygiene standards are mandatory
Formal culinary qualification is preferred but not essential if experience is strong
Salary and Benefits
Annual salary ranges from AUD 60000 to 70000 based on experience and skill level
