We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead a premium Modern Australian restaurant located in the heart of Sydney. This role requires a visionary chef with a passion for locally sourced ingredients, global flavor influences, and modern plating techniques.

As the culinary leader of the kitchen, the Head Chef will be responsible for managing all kitchen operations, curating seasonal menus, leading a team of professionals, and ensuring exceptional quality in high-volume service.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

👨‍🍳 Kitchen Operations & Management

  • Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations with a focus on efficiency, cleanliness, and quality.

  • Monitor kitchen performance and ensure service standards are maintained at all times.

  • Maintain food innovation, creativity, and modern presentation styles.

💵 Cost & Inventory Management

  • Monitor food costs, control wastage, and implement efficient stock rotation and ordering systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and negotiate pricing for produce and dry goods.
  • Keep accurate inventory and ordering logs using POS and kitchen software systems.

🧑‍💼 Leadership & Coordination

  • Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Conduct daily kitchen briefings and communicate effectively with all departments.
  • Hire, supervise, and appraise kitchen staff performance.

Job Requirements

Educational Background

  • Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or equivalent from a recognized institute (India or abroad).

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in commercial kitchens, with at least 3 years as Head Chef or Executive Chef.
  • Strong background in Modern Australian, European, or contemporary global cuisine.
  • Experience in high-end restaurants, boutique hotels, or international dining outlets is a plus.
