Job Description
The Pastry Chef will take full charge of the pastry section in a prestigious luxury venue in Brisbane. This role requires strong leadership, creative flair, and a consistent hand in producing high-quality desserts. You will collaborate with the Executive Chef and support teams to create elegant and innovative pastry selections that reflect the venue’s upscale reputation.

Job Responsibilities
Develop and rotate seasonal dessert menus with a focus on French and contemporary pastry
Prepare an array of desserts including tarts, mousses, cakes, chocolates, and plated desserts with precision and elegance
Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and HACCP standards within the pastry kitchen
Supervise daily operations in the pastry section and coordinate with other departments
Train and mentor junior pastry chefs and apprentices to uphold quality standards
Manage stock, inventory, and ordering of pastry ingredients
Ensure proper portion control, waste reduction, and cost efficiency
Collaborate on custom dessert concepts for events, functions, and VIP guests

Job Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery with a patisserie specialization or equivalent international qualification
At least 4 years of hands-on pastry experience in a luxury venue or fine-dining restaurant
Strong understanding of classical French pastry techniques, chocolate work, and decorative finishing
Excellent time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Fluent in English with good interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team, maintaining calm and focus under pressure
Genuine passion for pastry arts, detail orientation, and a strong creative mindset

Salary and Benefits
Salary offered is between AUD 65000 to 75000 per annum, depending on experience
Additional benefits may include staff meals, annual leave, professional training, uniform, and potential visa sponsorship for eligible international applicants
